Preparing a Brazil-based nonprofit for international funding

After formally establishing a nonprofit association, Mahin entered a new stage of institutional development. The organisation needed to strengthen its internal structures while responding to an equivalency determination process required for an international grant.

During a six-month advisory engagement, Santi supported the organisation of financial and accounting information, explanations concerning Mahin’s legal transition and previous revenue history, the preparation and translation of institutional documents, and the implementation of internal procedures.

Santi also participated directly in selected interactions with NGOsource, helping the organisation respond to the assessment requirements.

The equivalency determination was approved, enabling Mahin to receive a significant institutional grant from Imaginable Futures.

The procedures developed during the process remained in place and became part of the organisation’s management practices.
